Movie Review

GI Joe: Retaliation

Being someone who grew up in the 80's, i had high hopes for the two Gi Joe movies.  I remember the cartoons as a kid; which i LOVED.  These only positive aspect or Retaliation is that this movie is so bad, it makes the first one watchable.  The story line is terribly confusing and by the end of the film, it leaves one thinking, What is going on??  Sadly, my hopes for a decent GI Joe movie were not satisfied this time.  Maybe the next one will accomplish more than simply sucking $12 out of my wallet.
Print Media Review

A Dance With Dragons, part of A Song of Fire and Ice by George R.R. Martin.  This was a long, 1040 pages, but excellent book.  A Dance with Dragons is the fifth book in the series and continues the story of the lands of Westeros and the seven kingdoms.  The story, as exciting as it is, is also incredibly complex.  The same events are all told and retold from 18 different points of view.  So keeping track of what is going on can prove to be difficult.  As it is the 5th book in the series it is also not recommended as a "pick up", you would have to start back at the beginning with the 1st book A game of Thrones.
